Upton Castle has recently been passed into new ownership. To the great relief of those who have enjoyed the grounds at Upton in the past Mr and Mrs Barlow wish to share these unique surroundings with the rest of us. They look forward to welcoming visitors to the gardens in April.
The Plan for 2007…………
Preservation is the primary duty of all guardians of Historic buildings and Upton is no different.
The castle is currently undergoing a comprehensive but sympathetic program of renovation in order to keep the fabric of the building sound for future generations. Incorporating sustainable and renewable energy systems wherever possible, including ground source heat pumps and solar panels.
The future projects
Renewal of the 1 acre Victorian walled garden
Restoration of the medieval chapel
Renovation of the Medieval Hall
Creation of visitor facilities to include children’s play area and café
