Surrounding the early 13th-century castle (a private family home), the gardens are home to one of Wales' finest collections of champion trees, beautiful seasonal planting and our annual Art & Sculpture Exhibition. Annual Art & Sculpture Exhibition
Throughout the summer, contemporary sculptures and artwork are displayed throughout the gardens, creating an inspiring trail where art and nature come together.
Every visit offers something new as sculptures appear among trees, flowers and woodland, making each walk a unique experience.
The Historic Walled Garden
Originally built around 1790, the historic walled garden combines productive vegetable beds, fruit trees, fragrant herbs, traditional beech hedging and historic greenhouses. Its sheltered microclimate creates one of the most peaceful and picturesque corners of the estate.
The Rose Garden
A favourite with visitors, the traditional rose garden combines heritage and modern roses with fragrant lavender borders to create one of the estate's most colourful and photographed displays.
Champion Trees & Arboretum
Discover one of Wales' finest collections of champion trees. Home to 18 Welsh Champion Trees recognised by the National Tree Register, the arboretum features magnificent Magnolias, Tulip Trees, Handkerchief Trees and many other remarkable specimens that provide beauty and interest throughout the year.
Woodland Walks & The Cleddau Estuary
Stretching along the warm west-facing wall, the herbaceous border provides colour throughout summer with Echium, Buddleja and a wide range of flowering plants that attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
The Celtic Rainforest
Explore one of Britain's rarest habitats. Ancient woodland filled with mosses, lichens, fungi and wildlife offers peaceful walking trails through an ecosystem considered rarer than many tropical rainforests.
The Medieval Chapel
Dating back to the mid-12th century, the Grade I listed chapel predates the castle itself. Inside you'll discover remarkable medieval stone effigies, including the tomb of Sir Walter Maliphant, and a fascinating piece of Pembrokeshire's history that even featured on Time Team.
The Herbaceous Border
Stretching along the warm west-facing wall, the herbaceous border bursts with Echium, Buddleja and a wide variety of flowering plants that attract bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects throughout the summer.
