Kim Carlow is a printmaker based in Pembrokeshire.

Statement

I love the contrasting patterns of where sea meets land, the sweep of a harbour wall, or a jolly pier and the cluster of life at the edges of this island. I also enjoy finding out a little bit of local history and stories attached to places, these are not necessarily apparent in the final image but certainly enrich my own interest and desire to create pictures that capture something of the place.

I completed a Degree in Fine Art Printmaking at Norwich School of Art (1987-90) and a Masters Degree, Fine Art Printmaking at Chelsea College of Art & Design (1990-91).

I have exhibited nationwide and in the early years of living in the South West, I exhibited at Beside the Wave, Falmouth and The D’Art Gallery, Dartmouth. I was a member of “North Star Studios” in Brighton in the early nineties before living in North Devon for 15 years and teaching within the art department of a local college. During this time I exhibited at Make South West and have current, ongoing displays in The Burton Art Gallery, Bideford and The Pier Gallery, Ilfracombe.
